What Exactly is permanent jewelry?

what it is and isn't
What it is: The short answer is that it is a bracelet, anklet or necklace that has no clasp. The ends of the sterling or gold chain are welded together with a tiny spark from a welder specially designed for jewelry.
What it’s not: The piece is not attached to your body like a piercing or a tattoo. So it doesn’t hurt. It’s safe. And it’s easy to remove with a nail clipper if you need to take it off.
How permanent is it? It is only as permanent as the strength of the chain. A very fine chain is more likely to break than a thicker one. A loose bracelet is more likely to get snagged on something and break than one that is properly fitted.
What if I need to take it off? Just snip the ring that attached one end to the other and have it rewelded when it’s convenient. My policy is that if you need to take it off for any reason, even if you’re just tired of it, I’ll reweld it for free. And if you have a bracelet from somewhere else, I’ll reweld for free if you are buying a new bracelet from me!
TSA? Like any jewelry, it won’t cause problems going through the airline check-ins.
Who should not wear permanent jewelry? Grade school kids probably shouldn’t but kids 15 and older should be fine, with parental approval of course.
If you play volley ball, soccer or are in gymnastics you might not be allowed to wear it. But even if you can, your chain might be under too much stress and you could lose it. It would be best to get your bracelet made with a clasp; what I call “the not-so-permanent bracelet.”
Nurses: Many people who work in medicine are not allowed to wear permanent bracelets. And if they are allowed to wear it, some employers may require that it be covered with tape while at work.
Who might benefit from a permanent bracelet? People with arthritis enjoy wearing a little bling that doesn’t have to be fooled with. It just stays on all the time.
What can I do if I can’t have a permanent bracelet? Get a clasp! I charge the same for a bracelet, anklet or necklace whether it has a clasp or not.
why do people get permanent jewelry?
The easy answer is that it’s cool! But why it’s cool is that, like a tattoo or a piercing, it’s a way of expressing yourself and creating your personal style.
Getting permanent jewelry is an experience. It’s something fun to do with friends, family and lovers. It commemorates a moment in your shared experience. It celebrates relationships, fun times and even sad times such as memorializing the loss of a soul mate. It can celebrate your accomplishments and life events.
Cheri’s bracelets are made with sterling silver or gold filled chain and are custom fit to your wrist. Your bracelet can be a “permanent” bracelet, meaning that it has no clasp and just stays on all the time. And, of course, she can make your custom fit bracelet with a clasp.

Some of the chains
What's different about cheri's permanent Bracelets?
The closure is an integrated handwrought sterling silver or gold filled link designed to be as strong or stronger than the rest of the chain.
This type of closure avoids the risk of losing your jewelry due to an accidental gap in a welded closure.
